Beautiful skin is sometimes just a little beauty ritual. A face mask once a week for example. And as long as you do, double the pleasure by concocting your own homemade mask! To combine beauty and pleasure, here are 15 recipes for natural, homemade face masks adapted to each skin type.
Hydrating mask with Greek yogurt
Hydrating face mask with Greek yogurt. Greek yogurt has a lot of benefits for your body – you should definitely eat it! It contains a lot of good biotic pros as well as double the protein compared to standard yogurt and half the sugar. Too bad the television advertising campaigns are so bad. And not only should you eat it, but you should also put it on your face! Lactic acid is a natural cleanser and a gentle scrub. Combine that with the benefits of the biotic pros, calcium, and live bacteria from yogurt and you will have soft, glowing skin.
- A few tablespoons of plain Greek yogurt
- 1-2 teaspoons of honey
- Optional additions:
- Lemon pressure – citric acid will also help lighten the skin.
- Blueberries – incorporate a few berries to add antioxidants.
Mix yogurt, honey, and other ingredients until you have a creamy paste. Then apply generously to the face and neck using a brush or fingers. Leave the mask on for 20 minutes then rinse off with lukewarm water. Apply the moisturizer and enjoy your glowing skin!
Face mask for blackheads
- 2 eggs
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
In a bowl, vigorously mix 2 egg whites and lemon juice. Apply the mask all over the face, leave it on for about fifteen minutes (until the mask is completely hard and solid) before removing it gently. Rinse your face with cold water to close your pores.
Honey and Avocado Mask
Hydrate your skin with a honey and avocado mask. Honey retains moisture while avocado oil treats dry spots, making your skin more beautiful than ever. You can also try it as an overnight sleep mask.
- 1 C. avocado, mashed
- 1 teaspoon of honey
- 1 C. thick cream
Mix the avocado, honey, and heavy cream until you get a smooth consistency. Apply the mask on the face and neck and leave on for 10 minutes before rinsing off with lukewarm water.
Cucumber and oat mask
Dry, irritated skin could use this soothing mask. It is made with moisturizing cucumber and soothing oats, perfect for cold days.
Winter air can leave skin dry and dry. This soothing and hydrating mask removes the redness of the cheeks burned by the wind. Cucumber and oatmeal are both soothing and anti-inflammatory, and yogurt is one of the easiest and most effective masks because it gently soothes and exfoliates. Sage contains ursolic acid which naturally removes dead skin cells while providing vitamin A and calcium.
- 2 tablespoons plain sugar-free yogurt
- 2 tablespoons mashed cucumber
- 2 tablespoons rolled oats
- 1 C. chopped sage
Mix the ingredients and massage on clean, damp skin. Relax with the mask for 15 minutes then rinse. Perfect for soothing dry and irritated skin.
Face mask for oily skin
- 1 egg white
- 1 teaspoon of honey
- Oats or ground flour
Beat the egg white and honey together until they are well mixed and a little frothy. Add oats or ground flour until a dough is obtained. Apply to the face (avoiding the eye area) and gently massage the skin into a paste. Leave the mask on for 10 minutes and remove with lukewarm water.
Face mask for dry skin with an anti-aging effect
- 1 banana
- 2 tablespoons fresh cream
- 1 tablespoon organic honey
- 1 tablespoon oatmeal
- mineral or spring water
Heat the honey until it becomes liquid (not too hot!) By putting it in a small glass or metal bowl which is immersed in hot water. Crush the banana, then add the honey, oatmeal, and cream, mix well. Add water until you get a smooth paste.
Massage and spread the dough gently with your fingers on your cleansed face and neck, avoiding the eye area.
Leave the mask on for 15 minutes.
Then wash with alternately cold and hot water and finish with a little cold. Pat the skin with a clean towel. Finally, apply a moisturizer to keep the water inside your epidermis.
Both lemon and apple contain natural fruit acids that exfoliate the skin and remove the oil. Sage is an herb with astringent properties to tighten and close pores. You can also try dried lavender or peppermint for similar effects.
- 1 C. applesauce
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice
- 1 C. dried sage
Mix the ingredients and apply to the face. Leave on for 5-10 minutes and remove with lukewarm water.
Face mask for sensitive skin
- 15 ml white clay
- 5 ml aromatic rose hydrosol
- A quarter of a teaspoon of liquid honey
- 1.2 ml of vegetable oil of our choice
Mix everything in a bowl on clean skin, erased if possible. Leave on for 5 to 10 minutes, then rinse.
Yogurt and cucumber mask
Calm your skin with a yogurt and cucumber mask. It is refreshing and anti-inflammatory, and the caffeic acid in cucumbers reduces swelling and inflammation from the sun.
This mask is particularly pleasant after a day in the sun.
- 1/2 cucumber, mashed
- 2 tablespoons plain yogurt
- 1 Probiotic capsule
Combine ingredients in a small bowl and apply to clean face with clean hands. Avoid the eye area. Leave the mask on for 15 minutes then rinse off with lukewarm water. Then apply moisturizer.
Fight blackheads with a homemade recipe
Blackheads are the enemy of all skin types, but especially that of oily and acne-prone skin. So again, we trust the virtues of honey and add magic ingredients to it:
- 1 teaspoon of turmeric, the orange-yellow Indian spice with unstoppable antioxidant and antibacterial properties
- 1 teaspoon of milk
- 1 teaspoon of honey
Mix the turmeric and the honey and add the milk as you go to make the mixture more liquid. Leave on for about fifteen minutes.
Chocolate and honey mask
Who knew you could use chocolate to fight wrinkles? Try this dark chocolate honey beauty mask for youthful and radiant skin.
- 1/8 cup pure, organic honey
- 3 to 5 squares of dark chocolate, melted
- 2 teaspoons ground oatmeal (you can grind it in a blender)
- 1 tablespoon plain Greek yogurt
Combine all the ingredients in a smooth, creamy dough. Massage on the face by massaging gently and circularly. Leave on for 15 minutes and rinse thoroughly with lukewarm water.
Natural mask recipe for dry skin
For dry skin, only one credo: hydrate, hydrate, hydra-ter! And to soften and nourish, that goes without saying. For a deep hydrating mask, mix:
- 1 half-ripe avocado
- 1 banana
- 1 tablespoon of honey
Mix the ingredients well until you get a smooth and homogeneous paste, and leave to stand for 10 minutes.

- 2 c. organic plain yogurt
- 1 cup honey
- 1 cup pomegranate juice
Mix the ingredients well and apply with a facial brush or with your fingertips to the face and neck. Leave the mask in place for 10 to 20 minutes for maximum effectiveness and rinse well with warm water.
Homemade anti-aging face mask recipe
When it comes to preparing an anti-aging mask, the ingredient with a big “i” is … chocolate!
Very rich in antioxidants, it effectively combats the aging of the skin. For natural youthful skin, you will need:
- 8 squares of dark chocolate with 80% cocoa, preferably organic
- 1 tablespoon sweet almond oil or olive oil, your choice
Melt the chocolate in a bain-marie and add the oil. Wait until the mixture is lukewarm before applying it and leave on for 15 to 20 minutes.
Face Mask with pumpkin and apples
I didn’t know that pumpkin was so good for your skin. But it contains a lot of antioxidants and alpha-hydroxy acids that exfoliate and hydrate at the same time. And apples, the other big ingredient of fall, contain a lot of natural fruit acids that kill skin cells.
- 1/2 green apple
- 1/4 cup pumpkin puree
- 1 tablespoon of honey
- 1 to 2 tablespoons of milk
- A pinch of cinnamon
Peel and chop the apple. Put it in the blender with the pumpkin until you get a smooth consistency. Add honey and milk. Apply to face and neck (avoid eyes) and enjoy a pumpkin spice latte for 15 minutes. Store the mixture in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks – or have a tasty snack! When you are ready to wash it, take a shower with a cinnamon brown sugar scrub.
